The Governor and NRT CEO repeated NRT employees nearly 2,000 people each with averagely 6 dependents, about 20,000 benefit from the umbrella body and thus a key stakeholder to county government. 80% of county’s internally generated revenue is from consecration. County Government of Samburu therefore looks for NRT further partnership in signing MoUs with 10 North Sub County conservancies to build their capacities. The fact that the county government has given legal framework for complimentary financial support to conservancies, this will come to fruition.

To Samburu East Sub County conservancies, this fund means a stepping stone to financial sustainability.

All leaders lauded County Government of Samburu and the Governor for embracing conservation and being the first county in Africa to fully support conservation with an Act of County Assembly.
