Strategic Objectives
The sector focuses on the following strategic objectives to achieve its goals:
Promote growth in tourism both locally and internationally through product value addition, marketing, access to foreign markets and diversification of business ventures.
Develop and support growth of tourism and community participation through ecotourism activities within the county, and to increase earnings from domestic and foreign tourism;
Promote economic empowerment of the residents of the County trough sustainable community based conservation
To undertake policy, legal and institutional reforms for the development of the tourism sector
To promote research and development (R&D) and adoption of innovation and technology in the sector development
To promote local and foreign direct investments, value addition, product diversification, and Standardization and productivity improvement in the tourism sector
To enhance the business environment and to promote micro, small and medium enterprises through sustainable eco-tourism and community based conservation
To mobilize savings and investment resources for national development, to improve governance and accountability in the corporate governance, develop and diversify tourism products and source markets
